On a warm day out in the country (or even a rainy one!), we are always up for a scoop of delicious ice cream. Our love affair with ice cream has been a long one. We still remember as children running outside to the tune of the ice cream van, and quickly trying to lick all the melting ice cream before it dripped down our elbows. We couldn’t imagine a countryside summer without it (though we would never say no to a scoop in any season). It can be eaten almost anywhere at any time, comes in an unlimited number of flavours, and is loved by everyone in the whole family (even the dog enjoys a small vanilla cone on a hot day). If you are out adventuring in the Scottish Borders or Northumberland, here are some places where you can enjoy a delicious scoop.
