Musto UK is a distinguished British brand known for its high-quality outdoor and sporting clothing. Keith Musto founded the brand after competing in the Tokyo Olympics after discovering the importance of proper sailing wear. He set about producing ground-breaking technical clothing to conquer the problem.
Where it all began
While the initial focus was on creating garments for sailors, the brand’s reputation for durability and performance soon caught the attention of other outdoor enthusiasts and more specifically, Musto noticed a gap in the market for technical riding and shooting gear. Since then, Musto have expanded into many more outdoor sectors such as skiing, expedition and fitness collections. Their goal is to create truly transitional lifestyle pieces, meaning outdoor enthusiasts can rely on their Musto items to carry them seamlessly from their sport to their regular outdoor life. Committed to their place of trust in the sporting community, Musto continually develop cutting edge technical clothing, specialised fabrics and new manufacturing techniques. They have long standing relationships with their developers and suppliers some spanning decades. Musto is a brand passionate about what they do and what they stand for. In 1990, following a series of tragic accidents during the Whitbread Round the World Race, race organizers turned to Musto to develop a cutting-edge dry suit. After thorough research and development, the Musto Drysuit was created, significantly extending survival time in freezing waters from just 15 minutes to 2 hours. The prototype was rigorously tested in 1992 by renowned sailor Skip Novak, who wore it while swimming in the icy waters of Antarctica, proving the Musto Drysuit was ready for the world.
