Wimbledon, a highlight of the British Sporting Calendar, is usually gearing up to take "centre court" on our television screens at this time of year. Many of us will admit to showing no interest in tennis or any other sport for that matter for the rest of the year, but there is something so quintessentially British about Wimbledon that draws in even the most unenthusiastic of sports fans. Wimbledon 2024 is set to be a mixed bag weather wise - beginning Monday July 1st and running until Sunday July 14th, so if you're lucky enough to be a ticket holder let's explore the burning question - what are you going to wear? Whilst whitest white may be the dress code for the competitors there is actually no formal dress code for spectators. However, there are a few guidelines we feel should be followed to make sure you are looking "Ace" for any future Wimbledon outings.
Break Point Blazers
For gents, a light blazer and shirt is the ideal combo for a day at the Championship. Light, neutral colours are top of our list to keep you cool in that summer heat, and with the added benefit of roofs on both Centre and Court 1 you don't need to worry about keeping dry. Mix up your jacket and
chinos by contrasting linen colours with navys and light blues. Smarten up your look by wearing a tie, but equally an open collar and pocket square can be just as charming. Finish it off with some comfy footwear, loafers and
deck shoes are a great option during the warm summer weather but you can't beat a pair of
RM Williams Comfort Craftsman boots to finish off that polished look.
Game, Set and Match
When it comes to ladies fashion at Wimbledon we have 3 simple rules; keep it smart, yet casual but most importantly comfortable. Neutrals and light blues make our top picks for our ladies Wimbledon style and just like the players, white is a fan favourite. Keep it cool with loose shirts, floaty dresses and a
sun hat, but always be prepared for any adverse summer weather with a light jacket, or embellish your bag with a handy multipurpose scarf that you can call upon if those summer breezes pick up. Break up your outfit with matching accessories including
bags, belts or shoes, opting for smart and practical footwear as days at the tournament can be long, and if you were to get caught up in one of those epic matches, it can be a lot of time on your feet. Lastly, pop on your favourite pair of sunglasses so you can inconspicuously celebrity spot and all there's left to do is enjoy a big glass of Pimm's and a crisp bowl of strawberries and cream. Cheers!
