Why we are Celebrating R.M. Williams on Australia Day

R.M.Williams boots are ‘unashamedly built for the bush’ and are a symbol of Australian craftsmanship. Our Australian companions find themselves on the feet of many members of the A∙Hume family through a shared appreciation of superior quality, and when we wear R.M. Williams boots, we carry a piece of Australian heritage with us.

History of R.M. Williams

The R.M. Williams brand that we all know and love today was established back in 1932, when Reginald Murray Williams decided to take his hand to creating leather goods. Constructing the entirety of the upper boot using only a single piece of leather set them apart from their competitors, a unique technique that is still used in their production process to this day. Now in 2021, the brand is back in Australian hands and is stronger than ever.

Back in 2000, R.M. Williams joined the Humes family and brought a contemporary twist to the traditional offering. It was a perfect fit, proudly hand-crafted boots built for the countryside lifestyle that our customers aspired to have. To this day they are one of our favourite brands and we are proud they are now back under Australian ownership.
