Clarkson Farm’s second season is now upon us, after its first season was a hit with viewers up and down the country for its hap-hazard and humorous approach to running a farm. The series documents Clarkson’s attempt at running his 1,000 acre farm in the beautiful Cotswold countryside without any previous experience. Clarkson purchased the contract run farm in 2008 before taking the reins in 2019 to attempt the arduous task of farming the land himself. He nicknamed the farm “Diddly Squat”, an ode to its lack of productivity which was documented in the first series particularly through the COVID outbreak as well as the trials and tribulations of the unpredictable British weather. The show has been successful in bringing farming into people’s living rooms, highlighting issues previously unknown to the public that farmers have to deal with every day. A renewed interest and respect for the industry can only be a good thing but as a country clothing store, we couldn’t help but enjoy watching for familiar items from our collection and seeing country style come to life in a practical and authentic way. Hawk eye viewers among us were able to spot the distinguishable badge of Le Chameau wellies worn by Clarkson and his trusty farm hand Kaleb and its no wonder that these would be a favourite amongst the Cotswold countryside goers. Le Chameau are popular for their incredible quality and comfort, and often the first choice for farmers who spend so many hours on their feet in the cold and mud. If you have wondered why at points Jeremy’s wellies seem so slack – most likely he is wearing a pair of Le Chameau Chasseur’s unzipped. He is after all a busy man with 1000 acres to cultivate.
