Humes Outfitters: Celebrating Our Sustainable Country Brands

18 Mar 2021

Our passion is our countryside and whether we are traipsing through the thick mud of a field with our wellies on or cosying up in our slippers by the log fire, it is important to us that having these luxuries do not harm or compromise the beauty of our countryside. So let’s take a moment to recognise some of the brands in the Humes family who go above and beyond to protect the natural beauty of the country while still giving us high quality products that will last a lifetime (instead of the planets).

Sustainable Outdoor Clothing

What makes a clothing brand sustainable? A clothing brand can be considered sustainable if it goes to efforts to make various eco friendly choices throughout it's entire supply chain. Some of these ways might include using environmentally friendly materials such as organic cotton, hemp, Tencel and bamboo, employing sustainable production practicies such as avoiding harmful chemicals and dyes, ensuring fair labour practices, sourcing materials responsibly including animal welfare, creating high quality and durable items of clothing, and offering repair services or recycling programmes.
