Frequently Asked Questions

Do Ariat clothes run big?

As a general rule, Ariat’s equestrian wear including shirts, mid-layers, thermals and coats; run true to size. They are designed to cut a flattering fit, and many use stretchy, breathable fabrics that allow for flexible, unrestricted movement. We advise ordering true to size. Please consult the size guides on individual items for specific sizing.

How should Ariat Boots fit?

The consensus seems to be that Ariat boots run slightly larger. Generally, the suggested sizing runs true to size or you may look to order a half size smaller than your regular shoe size. How should Ariat fit and how can you determine your boot size correctly?

When trying on for size, always use the boot pulls to assist you. Standing up in the boots will also help you get a better understanding of the fit as well as how your foot moves in them.

The heel of the boot should fit snugly and you can expect a small amount of lift in your heel and a comfortable flex to the front while walking. Remember that new boots can sometimes feel stiff, especially the sole. As time goes on this will become softer and more supple, something to keep in mind when trying on boots.

How to measure for Ariat Boots

To measure yourself, sit in a straight chair with your knees bent at a 90-degree angle. Wear the trousers and socks that you would most likely wear with your boots. If possible, have someone else measure for you. To determine calf width, measure at the widest part of the calf. To determine height, measure leg height from the floor to the bend behind the knee.

For boot size, keep your foot flat while you measure the sole from the end of your longest toe to the back of your heel.
